Advertising Project | Geometry Global
During my time at Geometry Global, I was tasked with creating a conceptual and thought-provoking image reminiscent of a simple and direct logo. We focused on understanding that “less is more” and how minimally communicating meaning can be as powerful as excess. For the campaign assignment, I was given the word “education” and the brand Apple to create an advertisement containing a slogan and visual image using Adobe Illustrator. My intent behind the design was to mimic Apple’s simplicity and modern aesthetic. Since my word was “education,” I considered how knowledge and the brand are connected. After brainstorming and researching, I decided on the slogan “Feeding Minds (since 1976).” I decided on this as I felt it incorporated the educational element into Apple’s branding. Through Apple's products, we are fed information, applications, and several additional platforms their technology provides. The slogan promotes Apple’s essential presence in our day-to-day lives. In terms of design, I used the term “feeding” so that it looks as if the person is about to ingest it, just as we mentally ingest Apple’s services and tools. Lastly, I decided to incorporate color only in the Apple logo to display its contrast with the rest of the brain. The Apple logo is the only area in the brain that is vibrant and layered, advertising that it is the source of knowledge. The different colors symbolize the various features that Apple has to offer. I gave a final presentation of my project to the digital marketing agency team and CEO.
